Big Shake喜剧节

Welcome to Big Shake, a new comedy festival founded by Joe Daymond. On 30 October, we're taking over the entire Te Puna Creative Hub for a night of food, music and comedy.
Three shows in the Kōmanawa Theatre, food stalls and local vendors right next door, plus DJs and music keeping things moving throughout the night. Come for a show, bring your mates and make a night of it.

Each comedy show is ticketed separately, so please make sure you book for every show you'd like to attend. Full lineups and formats will be announced closer to the festival.

THE EARLY SHOW, 5PM
We're kicking things off by putting comedians to the test. The Early Show brings games, challenges and audience participation to the stage, where having a microphone doesn't necessarily mean having the right answer. Come watch people who talk for a living try to think under pressure.

THE MAIN SHOW, 7.30PM
The Main Show is the centrepiece of Big Shake's first festival, bringing together some of the country's best comedians and a live band for a big night of stand-up. Different voices, different styles and live music throughout the show. Grab something to eat next door, get your crew together and settle in.

AFTER HOURS, 9.30PM
The late show hands the conversation over to a panel of comedians. Big opinions, personal stories and advice you should probably run past someone else first. With the audience in the mix, there’s plenty to talk about and very little chance everyone will agree.

There's more happening beyond the theatre doors. Come early for the food stalls and vendors, stick around for the DJs, and make the most of the space between shows. This is the first Big Shake, and you’re invited be part of the beginning.
